Help Them Out, Book Them Out.

Together, let's #BookThemOut. South Australia's tourism, wine and food businesses are asking for support in the wake of unprecedented bushfires at the start of summer.

Now more than ever, South Australia’s beautiful Adelaide Hills and Kangaroo Island regions need your support. Tour with one of our local guides, meet the wildlife, buy the local produce, spirits and wine and stay a few nights. So much of the Adelaide Hills and Kangaroo Island look exactly as you’d expect, pristine, pure and perfect.

Businesses across our regions have already reported a spike in incoming inquiries and requests for information. But there’s so much more support needed. The #BookThemOut campaign is about making every effort to get behind South Australians affected by bushfires.

The South Australian Tourism Commission’s Chief Executive Rodney Harrex said the state’s entire tourism sector had felt the impact of the bushfires, with wineries in the Adelaide Hills also broadly affected.

“The #BookThemOut campaign was an important, immediate step forward to help the rebuilding and recovery process, and the feedback we have heard has been positive. They have wanted to get people back up to the Hills, and buying their wines,” he said.

“The outpouring of support from the community from within South Australia, as well as interstate and across the globe has been inspiring, and has certainly helped our wine and tourism sector bounce back.”

Lucy Golding from Golding Wines in the Adelaide Hills said the campaign had helped get people back to their cellar door.

“While visitation to our cellar door since the fire has been strong, the #BookThemOut campaign has taken it to the next level which is wonderful for us and the wider Hills community. The South Australian community has really got behind this campaign to help us all get back on our feet and we are truly thankful for everyone’s support,” she said.

Nearby winery, Mt Lofty Ranges Vineyard’s Sharon Pearson, also said the campaign had helped enormously.

“It’s been great to see people coming back up into the Adelaide Hills. It’s been tough for many people in our community, but now we want people to come back, visit us and see how amazing the hills are.”
