Louis M. Martini Winery

San Francisco | Napa Valley

Built in 1933, the winery was one of the first five in Napa Valley to open after the repeal of Prohibition and has been meticulously restored. For the restoration of the Martini Winery the team partnered with renowned architect Howard Backen, who guided the process in bringing out the beauty of the winery’s utilitarian design of terra cotta brick, concrete and steel. The design preserved the original structure and footprint yet made meaningful changes to the interior as well as the indoor/ outdoor flow.

Martini features an array of world-class tasting experiences, reflecting their enduring commitment to Cabernet Sauvignon crafted in Napa Valley. The restored winery was designed for immersive wine experiences – spaces include:

  • The Wine Study, a 36-seat teaching theater dedicated to professional wine education
  • The Founder’s Room, built for customized library tastings
  • The Heritage Lounge, where guests savor a range of small-lot wines with innovative pairings
  • Private cabanas with bottle service are available outside in Martini Park. Here guests can take in views of the surrounding mountains and enjoy a glass of wine with wood-fired pairings. The wine and food pairing program showcases an array of thought-provoking flavors to awaken your palate and open your mind to the exciting possibilities of how wine enhances food.

Overseeing the guest experience is Estate Manager Jonathan Wendorf. Jonathan is a Napa Valley native with an extensive fine-dining background, including the Michelin-starred Masa’s and Quince in San Francisco and Press in St. Helena. Chef Jeffery Russell, a Culinary Institute of America alumnus and 11-year veteran of the Charlie Palmer Group, offers progressive-Californian cuisine with Italian influences, featuring regional and seasonal ingredients from local and artisan producers.
