Convinced and enthusiastic about Portuguese gastronomy, Chef Ricardo Costa’s cuisine shares the philosophy of The Yeatman: to showcase the best of Portugal, the local products and the traditional recipes, with a contemporary gastronomic approach and innovative techniques.

Considering the theme and wine concept of The Yeatman, the conjugation between wine and gastronomy must be highlighted. The complexity of Chef Ricardo’s Tasting Menus, combined with an adequate wine selection, provides the client with a unique experience and a memorable journey through different Portuguese regions. It sharpens the senses and leads the client to discover a great diversity of harmonies and contrasts.

The Restaurant

There are two wine supplements especially created and thought out by the Wine Team of The Yeatman, with the marked crease of Beatriz Machado, Wine Director. Both are comprised by 6 wines tailored to the menu, representing the diversity of 5 Portuguese wine regions. While one of them is a seasonal selection that complements the gastronomic experience of the client, the other supplement has the complexity and importance comparable to the tasting menu itself, with the same representativeness in terms of value.

In addition to the supplements, the choice of wines can be made freely and from an extensive list of over 1300 references gathered in the Wine Book of The Yeatman – considered, in 2019, the best regional wine list in the world – or by the glass, in a smaller but still significant selection of 109 options catalogued by profile in the Wine Journal.

For either option, the specialised team of Sommeliers will be available to help guide the client in choosing his wine, or to provide further details.

As for the thoughtful and connoisseur room team, they concentrate on a discreet service of the highest quality.

A set of details and the attention paid to them led to the awarding of the Best of Wine Tourism Awards, in the category of wine restaurant in 2020, which made us extremely proud.

The varied acknowledgement given to both The Yeatman, as a luxury wine hotel, and the gastronomic restaurant, makes us believe that we are following the right path of excellence.
